Conceived for the exhibition State of Things at K.L.8. in May 2021, these first three canvases of a series, show pieces of the body of the artist. This unconventional type of self portrait presents physical remnants that almost feel archeological.

Lush and surreal drapery reveal and hide at the same time. They also mesmerize and hold the attention of the viewer.

The clear allusions to the decorative hold a deeper meaning. The historical function of the female has often been reduced to this decorative role. Fabrics and textiles have been the realm of the woman. By placing physical fragments of the female creator.  amongst these textiles, the emphasis is on the way she handles herself in this reality. Will she  transcend or will she drown?
