Colourful draperies and fabrics capture the eye in this series. The figure of the artist, depicted either in full figure or fragmented is almost disguised by the lush semi-translucent gown. Again, references to historical painting, self portraits and visual culture are apparent.
The title Prolific, is a term often reserved for male painters and artists, who have produced a great amount of high quality work. Research shows, female artists were often just as productive, but their huge body of work didn’t make it in to the (art) history books.
